- 4 *Potato (medium)
- 2 clove *Garlic
- 1 *Bay leaf
- 1 tsp *Salt
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 50 ml Heavy cream
- 50 ml Milk
- 2 tbsp Chives
Directions

1Peel the potatoes and cut into pieces.

2Add the * ingredients to a pot and fill with water until just covered.

3Boil until the potatoes are soft.

4Put the boiled potatoes and garlic into a colander.

5Use a potato masher (if you don't have one, use a strainer) to mash the potatoes and garlic together.

6While still piping hot, add the butter.

7Then add the slightly warmed milk and heavy cream in several turns and stir it in quickly to combine completely.

8Adjust the taste with salt.

9Lastly, stir in the chives and it's all done.

10These are also delicious without garlic.

11They also taste great with other herbs or even with some bacon.
