- 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. cold butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2In a medium bowl stir flour, sugar, baking powder and salt with a fork.

3With a pastry bender, cut butter or margarine into the mixture until it is crumbly.

4In a small bowl, beat milk and egg with a fork.

5Stir into flour mixture just until all of the flour is moistened.

6Place dough on a lightly-floured board or counter top and knead gently for 5 or 6 times with a rolling pin.

7Roll into a 9-inch circle about 1/2-inch thick.

8Cut with a biscuit cutter.

9Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 425° or until golden brown.
