- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 tablespoon ghee or 1 tablespoon oil
- salt
- 2 -3 pinches bicarbonate of soda
- 14 teaspoon ajwain
- water, to knead
- oil, to deep fry
Directions

1Mix all ingredients except oil for deep frying and water.

2Add water, little by little, kneading to a soft pliable dough.

3Cover.

4Keep for 15 minutes.

5Break into small portions.

6Roll into 1 inch rounds.

7Keep a little thicker than puris.

8Prick with a fork.

9Place on a clean spread out cloth.

10Do this for all the dough.

11Heat oil in a pan.

12Add some of the round balls (matri) at a time.

13Fry till slightly golden.

14Flip side, repeat.

15Drain excess oil.

16Allow to become crisp.

17Store in an airtight container.
