  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 1/2 c. finely chopped celery with leaves
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. medium noodles
  • 2 cans condensed tomato soup
  • 1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms and liquid
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Brown in skillet the meat, celery, onion, garlic and water. Cover, steam until vegetables are tender.

    Remove from heat.

    Cook noodles as package directs.

    Drain.

    Add to meat along with soup, undrained mushrooms, salt and pepper.

    Spread into 3-quart casserole.

    Sprinkle cheese on top.

    Place in cold oven.

    Set at low heat (250°).

    Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour until bubbly.
