- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 5 Tbsp. warm water
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 5 c. flour
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Blend in shortening with dry ingredients.

3Combine milk with yeast and add flour to make stiff dough.

4Cover and place in refrigerator.

5Make biscuits as needed. Put in cold oven; turn oven to 450°.

6Mix will keep in refrigerator up to two weeks.
