Ingredients

  • 1 qt. tomato juice
  • 1 qt. water
  • 1 onion, fried in 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    In a large kettle, pour tomato juice and water.

    When boiling, add balls of the remaining ingredients.
  3. 3
    Simmer for three hours. Can also be cooked in a slow oven at 325° for about 2 hours. Makes 20 large meat balls.
