  • 1 kg lamb or beef in cubes
  • 2 large onions finely chopped
  • 5 potatoes peeled and halved
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 3 tbsp yorhurt
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • salt and pepper
  • lemon juice to taste
  • 2 stalks coriander leaves chopped

Directions

    Heat oil in pan and add onions and fry until brown. Add tomatoes, salt, garlic, ginger, and powdered spices except garam masala. Fry on low heat for 10 minutes adding a little water as necessary. Add the yoghurt tomato paste and cook until sauce is dry. Add the meat and cook stirring until meat juices are dry. Add 2-3 cups of water . When meat is tender add potatoes and cook until potatoes are done. Add garam masala, coriander and lemon juice.
