Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. Accent (monosodium glutamate)
  • 1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix, dry
  • 3/4 c. ripe tomato catsup
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 c. thick tomato juice or tomato puree

Directions

    Mix all but last ingredient well and shape into a loaf.

    Place in a loaf pan or casserole dish.

    Pour tomato juice or puree over loaf.

    Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.

    Cover pan with lid or foil while baking.

    Remove covering for the last 10 to 15 minutes of baking time.
