  • 2 sticks margarine, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Cream together margarine and sugar.

    Add egg yolk and vanilla. Mix in flour; this will be stiff.

    Add 1/2 cup nuts.

    Press into well oiled jelly roll pan.

    Beat egg white until frothy, then smooth over dough.

    Sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts over all.

    Pat dough slightly.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes, until lightly brown. Cool slightly, then cut into bars and finish cooling on rack.
