Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer; gradually add sugar, beating well.

2Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.

3Combine flour, soda and salt.

4Gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well.

5Stir in pecans.

6Shape dough into two 16-inch rolls; wrap in waxed paper and chill at least 4 hours.

7Unwrap and cut into 1/3-inch slices; place on ungreased cookie sheets.

8Bake at 375° for 6 to 8 minutes.

9Cool on wire racks.

10Yields 8 dozen.
