- 1 tsp. cornstarch

1Beat egg whites stiff, but not dry.

2Add cream of tartar. Gradually add sugar into which the cornstarch has been mixed. Beat until stiff and shiny.

3Pile on pie.

4Bake about 10 minutes at 350° or until light brown.
