  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (1 1/4 oz.) envelope Old El Paso taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar Old El Paso Thick 'n Chunky picante
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Pet-Ritz deep dish or 9 5/8-inch pie crust (frozen)
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided usage
  • 1 (4.5 oz.) can Old El Paso chopped green chilies
  • 1/3 c. broken Old El Paso tortilla chips
  • shredded lettuce
  • dairy sour cream

Directions

    In skillet, brown ground beef; drain.

    Add taco seasoning mix and 1 cup picante.

    Simmer 5 to 8 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in egg.

    Sprinkle frozen pie crust with 1/2 cup cheese; top with green chilies.

    Pour ground beef mixture over chilies.

    Top with remaining 1 cup cheese; sprinkle tortilla chips over top. Bake in preheated 350° oven on preheated baking sheet 20 to 25 minutes.

    Garnish with shredded lettuce, sour cream and remaining picante.
