  • 1/2 c. corn meal (self-rising)
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2/3 c. Crisco
  • 1/4 c. creamed corn
  • 1 c. whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. crushed red pepper (for milder, only use 1 tsp.)

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together except cheese; put only part of cheese in mix.
