  • 1 c. cornmeal (yellow)
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 can yellow cream-style corn
  • 1 can yellow kernel corn
  • 1/3 c. cooking oil
  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 onion
  • 1/3 lb. American cheese, grated
  • 4 small jalapeno peppers, chopped

    Saute hamburger meat with onion; drain grease.

    Mix first 8 ingredients.

    Pour 1/2 cornmeal batter in first.

    Add your hamburger meat, then sprinkle cheese.

    Add remaining cornbread mixture.

    Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour.

    Bake at 350°. Let cool for 30 minutes.
