Ingredients

  • 2 c. corn meal
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 medium or 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. cheese, grated
  • 1 c. peppers, chopped
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. corn, drained
  • pimento, chopped (optional)

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients together, add the rest of the ingredients to it and mix well.

    Bake in skillet or muffin tins at 450° until done.

    This can also be used to make hushpuppies.

    Just drop by spoonsful into hot oil and cook.
