Ingredients
- 1 c. white or yellow cornmeal
- 1 c. milk
- 1 can creamed corn (No. 303)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. melted shortening
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 jalapeno peppers or diced onion or chili powder
Directions

1Mix meal, salt and soda together.

2Add corn, shortening and eggs; beat well.

3Cook ground meat; set aside.

4Heat and grease large skillet.

5Pour half of batter into it.

6Pour meat on top of batter; sprinkle with cheese and onion and peppers.

7Pour rest of batter over all ingredients.

8Preheat oven to 375°.

9Bake for 45 minutes or until brown.
