- 1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 can cream-style corn
- 2 or 3 slices bacon
- 1 egg
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 can green chilies
Directions

1Mix buttermilk, baking soda, salt and baking powder thoroughly.

2Stir in cornmeal and flour.

3Add egg, cream style corn and green chilies.

4Fry bacon.

5Cool and crumble bacon and add to other mixture.

6Pour excess drippings from skillet into mixture.

7Stir well and pour into skillet.

8Put grated cheese on top.

9Bake in the oven at 450° until brown.
