- 1 c. cornmeal
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 c. bacon drippings
- 3 jalapeno peppers
- 1 lb. ground meat
- 1 large onion
- 1 can cream-style corn
- 1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Mix together all ingredients except onion, meat and cheese. Saute onion and meat together.

2Pour half of the cornmeal mixture into a greased, large, deep black skillet (10 1/2-inch). Alternate layers of meat and cheese.

3Top with remaining cornmeal mixture.

4Bake at 350° for about 50 minutes.
