  • 14 cup flour
  • 1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
  • 1 12 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 chipotle chile in adobo, one chile, not all, minced, plus
  • 1 tablespoon adobo sauce, from can
  • 34 cup water

Directions

    Heat oil over medium.

    Add flour and cook, whisking until smooth.

    Add broth, chili powder, cumin, chipotle and adobo sauce, and water.

    Bring to a boil, whisking constantly.

    Reduce heat, and simmer until lightly thickened, about 10 minutes.
