  • 1 lb. finely chopped beef or lean ground beef
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 (10 oz.) can tomato puree
  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/4 c. snipped parsley
  • 1/4 c. chopped toasted almonds
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

    In skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender.

    Drain fat.

    Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
