  • 1/2 oz. unsweetened grated chocolate
  • 3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine chocolate, brown sugar and evaporated milk.

    Bring to a boil.

    Add butter and stir occasionally until candy reaches soft ball stage (238°).

    Remove from heat.

    Add vanilla and nuts, mixing until candy begins to harden.

    Turn into a buttered 9-inch square pan.

    Cut into 2 dozen squares.
