- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. dried peas
- 1 (28 oz.) whole tomatoes, undrained
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. chopped celery
- 2 lb. sausage
- 1 medium onion
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Wash peas.

2Soak in water 2-inches above peas overnight. Brown sausage to crumble.

3Add onion and cook until tender.

4Then drain.

5Drain peas and stir in sausage and other ingredients. Bring to a boil.

6Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.

7Add water if needed.
