  • 1 c. dry long cooking rice
  • 1 (10 or 12 oz.) jar picante sauce (mild)
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder (or dry chopped onion)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. chopped dry chives
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 tsp. margarine

    Rinse rice; drain.

    In 2-quart boiler, add rice and all ingredients.

    Bring to boil; reduce to low heat.

    Cover and cook 25 to 30 minutes.

    Remove from heat and fluff.

    Serve with additional picante sauce if desired.
