Microwave Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/4 c. white corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 to 4 qt. popped corn

Directions

    Combine all ingredients except soda and popcorn in a 2-quart microwave dish.

    Bring to a boil (3 minutes on High).

    Stir and then cook 2 minutes more on High.

    Remove from microwave and stir in soda.

    Stir until foamy.

    Put popped corn in brown paper bag. Pour syrup over corn, close bag by folding top.

    Shake and place bag back in microwave on High for 1 1/2 minutes.

    Remove and shake; then cook another 1 1/2 minutes on High.

    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan and let cool.
