Microwave Caramel Corn

  • 4 qt. popped corn
  • 1 stick oleo or butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c. light Karo syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 standard size brown paper bag

Directions

    Pop corn and place in paper bag.

    In large microwave-proof mixing bowl, melt oleo.

    Add brown sugar, Karo and salt.

    Cook on High until starts to boil; stir occasionally.

    Boil for an additional 2 minutes on High (do not stir during these 2 minutes). Remove bowl and add soda and vanilla.

    Stir until evenly mixed and foamy.
