- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Combine sugar, syrup and 1/2 cup water in a 4-cup glass measure.

2Cook on High for 3 minutes; stir thoroughly.

3Cook on High (maximum power) for 6 to 8 minutes, or until small amount of mixture dropped in cold water forms a hard ball (250° on candy thermometer).

4While syrup is cooking, beat egg whites in large bowl with electric mixer until stiff peaks form.

5When syrup is ready, pour in a very thin, slow stream into egg whites.

6Beat constantly with mixer on high.

7Add vanilla; beat 6 to 8 minutes, or until mixture is stiff and loses its shine.

8Fold in nuts; drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.

9When cool, store in airtight container.

10Can be tinted with food coloring.
