  • 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. molasses
  • 1/4 c. hot water

    Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl.

    Blend at low speed. Then beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.

    Spread into greased 8 x 8-inch pan.

    Shield corners.

    Microwave at 50% for 6 minutes, rotating 1/4 turn every 3 minutes.

    Remove foil.
