- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. cornmeal (yellow)
- 8 level tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 scant c. sugar
- 1 c. dry milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. water
Directions

1Heat oven to 375° to 400°.

2Put shortening in a large cake pan and melt it.

3(Put in oven to melt.)

4In a mixing bowl, mix all the remaining ingredients by hand.

5Beat about a minute, then pour into pan and bake in hot oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 25 to 30 minutes.
