Ingredients

  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 stick butter/margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 bag caramel candy
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Mix cake mix, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, butter/margarine and eggs in mixing bowl until well blended. Spread half of this batter in a greased/floured 9 x 12-inch cake pan.

    Bake 10 minutes.

    Melt caramel candies with 1/3 cup evaporated milk (the easiest way to do this is in your microwave in a glass microwave safe bowl).

    Spread candy mixture over cake batter.

    Sprinkle chocolate chips over candy mixture.

    Top with remaining cake batter and return to oven.

    Bake an additional 20 minutes.

    Remove from oven and let cool completely.

    Cut into 2-inch squares.

    Store covered in refrigerator.
