  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) light cream cheese
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 (3 1/4 oz.) pkg. instant pudding (vanilla or banana cream)
  • 1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 carton whipped topping
  • pecans or walnuts, chopped for garnish

Directions

    Prepare cake according to directions in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Cool completely.

    Beat cream cheese (room temperature) with 1/2 cup milk until fairly smooth.

    Add pudding mix and remaining 1/2 cup milk.

    Beat until smooth.

    Spread on top of cake.

    Spread the pineapple over the pudding layer.

    Spread the whipped topping over pineapple and, if desired, sprinkle with the nuts.

    Refrigerate up to 24 hours before serving.
