  • 2 lb. lean beef, veal or venison
  • 4 lb. apples
  • 2 1/2 lb. raisins
  • 4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 lb. currants
  • 1/4 lb. ground citron
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. mace
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1/2 lb. ground suet

Directions

    Pare, core and chop apples.

    Combine with remaining ingredients; add water, cider or juice to moisten.

    Simmer until meat and fruits are blended.

    Pack in sterilized jars and seal. Any juice of your choice may be substituted.
