Ingredients
- 4 oz. smoked ham
- 2 carrots
- 1 onion
- 2 potatoes
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 leek
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 qt. water
- 2 bouillon cubes
- 2 Tbsp. tomato puree
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 c. small pasta
- 1/3 c. long grain rice
- 1 can whole tomatoes
- 1 pkg. frozen peas, thawed
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Dice ham in small pieces.

2Rinse vegetables.

3Peel carrots, onion and potatoes.

4Slice all vegetables or cut into julienne sticks.

5Saute ham and vegetables in oil for a few minutes. Transfer to a large pot.

6Add water, bouillon cubes, tomato puree, garlic, pasta and rice.

7Cook covered on medium-low heat for 20 minutes.

8Add chopped tomatoes and thawed peas to soup.

9Heat. Season with salt and pepper.
