  • 1/2 cup sugar plus 3 tablespoons
  • 4 tablespoons milk, low-fat
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder plus 2 teaspoons, unsweetened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted
  • 5 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg whites
  • 8 teaspoons chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 ounce chocolate unsweetened, chopped

    Preheat oven to 350.

    Coat 4 (2-ounce) ramekins with cooking spray or grease with butter, and sprinkle 3/4 teaspoon sugar into each of the ramekins, shaking and turning to coat.

    Set prepared ramekins aside.

    Whisk 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, milk, and cocoa in a small saucepan until well blended.

    Bring to a boil over medium heat.

    Cook until the sugar dissolves, about 35 seconds, stirring frequently.

    Remove from heat, stir in the butter and 1/2 ounce unsweetened chocolate until the chocolate melts and mixture is smooth.

    Cool chocolate mixture for 9 to 11 minutes.

    Whisk in the flour, vanilla, salt, and egg white into the chocolate mixture just until incorporated.
