- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 lb. chopped nuts (1/2 pecans, 1/2 walnuts)
- 1 lb. chopped dates
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 stick butter
- 1 stick margarine
Directions

1Mix dates, nuts and flour together.

2Melt margarine and butter; let cool.

3Add to dry mixture.

4Add sugar, egg yolks and vanilla.

5Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture.

6Line small muffin tins with paper and fill half full.

7Bake at 325° for 18 to 20 minutes.

8Makes 8 1/2 dozen.
