- 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp. light brown sugar
- 2-1/2 tbsp. melted bacon fat
- 1 cup milk
- 4 lg. egg yolks, beaten
- 2 cups mashed rutabagas
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 5 lg. egg whites, stiffly beaten
- Fresh parsley
Directions

1Mix together the flour, brown sugar and bacon fat.

2Gradually stir in the milk and cook over low heat, stirring often until mixtures thickens and becomes smooth.

3Remove from the heat.

4Gradually stir hot sauce into egg yolks.

5Add mashed rutabagas and seasonings; stir in about 1/4 of stiffly beaten egg whites, then gently fold in the rest.

6Pour into a well-buttered 1-1/2-quart ring mold.

7Bake in pre-heated 375F oven for 30 to 35 minutes.

8Remove from oven; cover with a towel and let rest for five minutes.

9Unmold on a heated serving dish.

10Garnish with parsley.
