  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 4 cups bourbon
  • Crushed ice
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Directions

    Add sugar to water and bring water to a boil.

    Reduce heat to medium; simmer for 10 minutes.

    Reduce heat to low, add chopped mint and simmer for 30 minutes.

    Remove from heat and let syrup sit overnight.

    Strain syrup.

    Fill cups with crushed ice.

    Combine bourbon with syrup and pour over nice.

    Garnish with mint leaves.
