- 10 dried shrimp
- 5-inch piece Dashi Konbu (soup kelp)
- 3 Araimo (dasheen), peeled and cut into chunks
- green onions
- 3 dried mushrooms, soaked and sliced
- 6 c. water
- optional additions include: sliced carrots, turnips, cubed tofu, eggs, somen, kamaboko
Directions

1Boil the shrimp, dried mushrooms and konbu in water for about 1/2 hour.

2Add vegetables and simmer until tender.

3Add about 2 heaping tablespoons miso paste.

4Garnish with tofu and green onions or other optional ingredients.
