  • 1/2-inch pieces pickles
  • 1/4 c. pure salt
  • 1 pt. vinegar
  • 1 heaping Tbsp. pickling spices
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. white onion
  • 1 pt. water
  • pinch of alum
  • 2 c. sugar

Directions

    Slice pickles into 1/2-inch pieces.

    Cover with mixture of 1/4 cup pure salt and water per 2 quarts of pickles used.

    Boil the rest of ingredients in large pan.

    Add pickles.

    Bring to a boil again.

    Can and store.
