Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. rice
- 2 1/4 pt. water
- 8 oz. carrots
- 1 lb. peas
- 8 oz. potatoes
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 big onions
- 2 inch pieces coarsely ground cinnamon
- 3 tsp. coarsely ground white cumin seeds
- 4 coarsely ground cloves
- 6 coarsely ground cardamon
- 1 tsp. red chili powder
- 6 oz. ghee (clarified butter)
Directions

1Wash and soak rice for 15 minutes.

2Cut the carrots into small cubes and potatoes into big pieces.

3Fry one sliced onion with green cardamon, bay leaves, until light brown.

4Add the peas, carrots, rice, coarsely ground spices and salt.

5Cook until half tender.

6Now add small pieces of peeled potatoes and cook on low fire until tender and water in rice is absorbed.

7Sprinkled fried onion slices on the top.

8Serve hot.
