  • 1/2 c. lard or vegetable oil
  • 3 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sour milk
  • 2 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 c. boiling water
  • vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Mix sugar, cocoa, lard and eggs together, then add the flour and sour milk alternately.

    Last add the boiling water, soda, vanilla and salt.

    Cake stays moist until gone.
