- 1 c. corn meal
- 2 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. soda
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. butter, melted
Directions

1Heat oven to 400°.

2Mix flour, corn meal, sugar, soda and salt.

3Mix buttermilk and eggs.

4Stir buttermilk mixture and butter into corn meal until blended.

5Grease 8-inch square pan. Pour batter into pan.

6Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden on top and wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
