- 4 slices regular size stale bread with crumbs
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. melted margarine
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. raisins
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Soak raisins in hot water to plump up.

2Break bread into small pieces; soak in milk (add more milk if needed).

3Add sugar, melted margarine and spices; mix.

4Add eggs; mix well.

5Add molasses; mix.

6Add vanilla.

7Drain raisins and add to mixture, stirring well.

8Place into greased casserole or deep pan.

9Bake at 350° for 1 hour, until brown and crusty on top.

10It will be solid to touch. Serve warm with lemon or vanilla sauce, ice cream or whipped topping.
