- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shredded coconut
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Cream the sugar and shortening.

3Beat in molasses and egg.

4Mix well.

5Add coconut and nuts; mix well. Drop on greased cookie sheet.

6Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

7Cool slightly and remove from cookie sheet.

8Yields 30 cookies.
