  • 3/4 cups Shortening, Melted
  • 1 cup Sugar Plus Extra For Dipping
  • 1/4 cups Molasses
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoons Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt

Directions

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees (F).

    Melt shortening (or use vegetable oil). Add sugar, molasses, egg; beat well. Sift dry ingredients and then add the shortening mixture. Mix well. Chill.

    Form into 1-inch balls and dip tops in granulated sugar. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes.
