- 3/4 cups Shortening, Melted
- 1 cup Sugar Plus Extra For Dipping
- 1/4 cups Molasses
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoons Cloves
- 1/2 teaspoons Ginger
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325 degrees (F).

2Melt shortening (or use vegetable oil). Add sugar, molasses, egg; beat well. Sift dry ingredients and then add the shortening mixture. Mix well. Chill.

3Form into 1-inch balls and dip tops in granulated sugar. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes.
