  • 3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. molasses
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. vinegar

    Sift flour once; measure. Add baking soda, ginger and salt and sift together 3 times. Heat molasses. Add butter and stir until blended. Add vinegar. Add flour and blend well. Chill. Turn onto floured board. Roll 1/8-inch thick. Cut with large scalloped cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425° for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
