- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup molasses (you can use any kind of molasses you prefer. Light molasses makes a brown, delicate flavored cookie;)
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons powdered ginger (optional)
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup sour milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

2Bring the butter to room temperature so that it is soft.

3Cream the butter with the brown sugar.

4Stir in the molasses.

5Add the egg.

6Measure out the flour and add to the butter/molasses mixture.

7Stir until partially blended.

8Add the milk and blend well.

9Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet.

10Bake 10 min.

11or until set in the center (no imprint remains when lighty touched with a finger).
