Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. molasses or sorghum
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. fat
  • 1/8 tsp. soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Directions

    Boil first 3 ingredients to hard ball stage.

    Add fat, soda and salt.
  3. 3
    Remove from fire; stir until soda is blended and pour into greased tins.

    When cool, pull between ungreased fingertips until candy is white in color and stiff.

    Cut in 1-inch pieces.

    Wrap in oil paper.
