  • 1 loaf French bread
  • margarine
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1/2 lb. grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • sliced ham or Mexican sausage (chorizo)

Directions

    Split bread in half lengthwise (use both halves).

    Spread with a thin layer of margarine.
  3. 3
    Spread with a layer of refried beans. If desired, place thin slices of ham or spread the Mexican sausage over the beans.

    Top with grated cheese.

    Broil or bake on high heat until cheese is melted.

    Cut into individual pieces and serve with salsa (hot sauce).
