  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • flour

Directions

    Mix first four ingredients and let cool.

    Mix next 3 ingredients.

    Add yeast mixture to cooled water mixture.

    Add eggs, beaten.

    Blend in several cups of flour until dough slightly sticky.

    Let rise twice.

    Shape into rolls.

    Bake at 425° until golden, about 10 to 12 minutes.
