Ingredients
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp minced ginger
- 1 clove chopped or minced garlic
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup plus 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb flank steak
- 1 bundle green onions
Directions

1Make the sauce by heating 2 teaspoons veg.

3saucepan over low heat.

4Don't get the oil too hot or it will splatter when adding liquids.

5Add ginger & garlic to the pan & quickly add the soy sauce & water before the garlic scorches.

6Dissolve the brown sugar in the sauce, then raise the heat to med.& boil the sauce for 2-3 min.

7Lower heat to simmer while you cut the flank steak.

8Slice the flank steak against the grain into 1/4 inch thick slices.

9Tilt the blade of your knife at about a 45 degree angle to the top of the steak so that you get wider cuts.

10I slice mine as thin as possible & easier to cut if partially frozen.

11As the beef sits, heat up oil in wok or skillet.

12Add the beef to the oil and cook until evenly browned, stirring occasionally.

13Add the sauce & simmer for 15-20 minutes.

14Add green onions during the last couple of minutes of simmering & cook until tender.

15Serve over whole grain brown or white rice.
